SMU Online BBA: Key Details
Here's what you need to know about fees, scholarships, eligibility, subjects and jobs after the course.
SMU Online BBA Fees 2026
₹90,000 sounds like a lot when you see it as one number. But most students don't pay it that way. If you're funding it from your salary, or your parents are handling it, the semester or EMI route is much easier on the pocket.

Exam fee included
Your exam fee is already part of the semester fee. You'll only pay extra if you need a resit or a duplicate document.

Four groups of students get a fee waiver at SMU:

Example: a student from Assam or Meghalaya would pay ₹63,000 instead of ₹90,000. That's ₹27,000 saved.
SMU vs Other Manipal Online BBAs
Three Manipal universities offer an online BBA. SMU, at ₹90,000, is the cheapest of the lot by a wide margin.

Eligibility and Documents
You need to have passed 12th from a recognised board. Your stream doesn't matter, so Science, Commerce and Arts students can all apply. A 10+3 diploma is also accepted. There's no entrance test and you don't need work experience.

Documents to scan before you start the form

- ABC ID and DEB ID
SMU Online BBA Admission Process
There's no campus visit at any stage. Everything is done online.
- Create your ABC ID and DEB IDUGC makes both compulsory for online degrees. The ABC ID is made through DigiLocker. After that, generate your DEB ID on deb.ugc.ac.in. Neither costs anything.
- Fill in the applicationEnter your personal and academic details, then pay the ₹500 application fee.
- Pay the course feeYou can pay for the first semester, the first year or the whole course.
- Upload documentsMarksheets, ID, photo and signature.
- Get your confirmationOnce the university verifies your documents, your seat is confirmed.
A small thing that causes a lot of delays: students use one email ID for the DEB registration and another on the SMU form. Stick to the same email and mobile number throughout.
SMU admits students twice a year. The July/August 2026 intake is closed now, so the next one is January/February 2027. Last dates change, so confirm with the official website or a counsellor.

Years one and two cover the basics: management, accounting, marketing and economics. Your specialisation comes in the third year.

You don't need to decide on day one. The choice comes in the final year, by which point you'll know which subjects you actually liked.
